Photo1. This photo contains a fire hydrant surrounded by a pool of water and dried up weeds emerging from the cracks of the pavement. The fire hydrant is rusted and mainly out of focus. The focused part of the photo is the base of the fire hydrant, the weeds and the ground. Personally, I associate this photo with challenges that come as time passes. The fire hydrant is old and rusted and it has obviously worn down as time passed, however it is still stunning and contains beautiful colors. I appreciate things that are not beautiful at first glance.
Photo2. This photo contains my newest teddy bear. It's face takes up most of the photo and it has symmetrical balance. I got this teddy bear for my 18th birthday and it is my favorite present. I associate the teddy bear with the fact that I am still allowed to be a child sometimes, even though I am legally an adult.
Photo3. This photo is of the transparent wrappers of Quality Street chocolates over a white table cloth. It is very simple and contains the colors red, blue, yellow, orange and green. I love this photo because it reminds me of all things art. Since I am a visual arts student, I love most things that have bright and radiant colors.
Photo4. This photo was taken on my deck in my backyard. It is of two pots that my sister and I had decorated in elementary school. It means something to me because it reminds me of the crafts that I used to do when I was younger. It is not something that I noticed for a long time and I was very happy to find it out on the deck. It made me recall how much I loved art and creative projects when I was younger.
Photo5. This photo is a flower that is slowly turning brown. The flower is in more focus than the background and this creates emphasis on it. I associate the flower with imperfections. Even though it is dying slowly, it is still beautiful in its own way.

'truth of pure perception'- These photos do record the truth of pure perception because they were not posed or moved around for the purpose of the photo. I simply looked around carefully and noticed things around me that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Also, the pictures are all of something that I pass or see on a daily basis but I didn't pay attention to its beauty until now. The content of the photos were objects that are just there, wherever I go.

I very much enjoyed the process of Miksang photography. Although I had to put in a lot of effort to be observant, I enjoyed the project because it allowed me to see things that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Throughout the project while taking pictures, I was thinking "Wow, I didn't notice this before." I really appreciated the fact that something so small or something that goes unnoticed all the time could be so beautiful.
