The photo that I used for this project is one that a friend took of me recently. I found it while browsing through my pictures on Facebook. What I liked most about it was the fact that it was not a picture that someone would likely find interesting or eye-catching. It was a plain photo witch didn't even have a proper composition.
In order to create this artwork, I cropped and inverted the photo. Then I changed it to a black and white photo. Then I printed out ten copies of this photo, all of them 4' by 6'. I was going to use one as a tester and nine in the actual art piece.
The original plan was to use Sharpie markers to colour in each pictures, but I figured that the colours would be too dark. Therefore, I settled on buying pastel coloured markers. These worked very well. I put the pictures together to create an Andy Warhol inspired piece.
While creating this art piece, my intention was to transform a plain photograph into an eye-catching one, and I believe that I achieved this.
